One day with indigenous people
Despite all the nature and animal watching, we also had the chance to visit an indigenous community. We were able to gain a small impression of their way of living. We prepared traditional yuca bread and of course met a real life shaman. No worries, we didn’t do an ayahuasca healing, just a quick and harmless cleaning of our aura. So we simply had to sit on a chair while the shaman was walking around us mumbling words. Oh and we also got our faces painted with achiote.
All in all it was an amazing experience!
Due to the decreasing water level over the last few days, our boat ride back to civilization was quite an adventure itself. But thanks to the amazing skills of our boatman and a bit of physical effort every now and then to push the boat over shallow water, we made it out in one piece.
